The primary purpose of this position is to plan the leader assignment and coordinate the placement / advanced placement drivers experience to ensure that they have a positive, detailed, organized and fulfilling experience during their career track program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position.

• Serve as the primary contact and owner of all Placement Driver and Advanced Placement leader assignments.
• Proactively manage driver dwell time by utilizing available leaders, keeping leaders active, and communicating with other members of the placement driver coordinator team to ensure the best assignment for the network.
• Work closely with the terminal teams to ensure we are providing the best experience possible for placement and advanced placement drivers.
• Document and use progressive disciplinary procedures for placement drivers who are not presenting a willingness to learn, commitment to completing the career track program, and to those who are not showing integrity on being available for a leader assignment.
• Coordinate, plan, and authorize off placement drivers of their leaders truck for various needs, such as: promotion, safety, hold, and whatever reason comes up.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Company requirements, policies, and procedures for drivers
• Excellent listening, decision making and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills coupled with a personality that builds trust
• Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner over the telephone and in person
• Werner Portfolio and Business Unit Knowledge
• Ability to communicate and negotiate in a professional manner with Drivers and Terminal
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced work environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Logistics or equivalent experience
• One to two years transportation experience
• One to two years PC experience including Windows and Excel
• Six months to one year customer service or recruiting experience preferred
