Waste Connections is Hiring a Roll Off Driver in Opa Locka, FL!

We are looking for a safety-conscious and experienced Roll Off Driver to join our team in Opa Locka, FL. If you have a passion for driving and providing excellent service, we want to hear from you!

SCHEDULE DETAILS:

• A typical schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, for a 50-60 hour work week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
• Read electronic route sheets and service each customer as assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as loading and unloading waste.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity, including strenuous physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment may involve exposure to physical risks (such as moving mechanical parts), requiring adherence to basic safety precautions.
• Exposure to outside weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as fumes and vibration. Noise levels are typically moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid CDL license.
• 1+ year of Roll Off experience preferred. If no Roll Off experience, at least 3+ years of dump truck or OTR tractor/trailer experience is acceptable.
• 3+ years of CDL driving experience required.
• No accidents or tickets on driving record.
• Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Ability to perform manual labor without restrictions.
• At least 2 years of stable job history, with your most recent position being a CDL driver.
